Alaca typeface was designed, based on its octagonal form, as contemporary, dynamic and modern font family.

While designing Alaca typeface each glyph was given a form to link with other glyphs.

As such, the harmony between the letters was carried to an advanced level.

Alaca font family consists of 6 weights and italics matching those weights.

It can be used typographically as a logo, title and text font up to certain sizes.

TT Geekette is an experimental variable* serif with friendly and flexible character of shapes. In this project, we wanted to get away from simplifications and dry geometry and to experiment with the smoothness, softness and plasticity of forms. And in order to make the project a little more stylish and serious, we decided to make the font monospaced.

When creating TT Geekette, we did not rely on traditional writing techniques or on the influence of pen movement on the font pattern. Despite the fact that judging by certain characters TT Geekette is a serif, the font is specifically “built” and “drawn”. There are several systemic techniques in font design, such as “loops” which set the plastic rhythm for the entire typeface.

Variability in TT Geekette is influenced by contrast buildup in the font—moving the slider to adjust the variability axis, you gradually move from a completely non-contrast monolinear serif font to a font with a pronounced reverse contrast. In addition, with the help of the variability slider, you can remove serifs from the monolinear essence of the font.

The TT Geekette family consists of 3 styles: the TT Geekette Bones—monolinear font, the TT Geekette Muscles—reverse contrast serif, and the TT Geekette Variable font. Each style contains over 450 glyphs. And yes, technically the typeface can be used in programming, at least you are guaranteed to get your share of bright emotions.

*An important clarification regarding variable fonts. At the moment, not all graphic editors, programs and browsers support variable fonts. You can check the status of support for the variability of your software here: v-fonts.com/support/

Download Novera Font Family From Rene Bieder

The Novera family is a sharp geometric sans in ten weights plus matching italics, available in two versions – Modern and Classic. It has a contemporary, approachable and multifunctional yet characteristic design, that comes with an extensive glyphs set of 1000+ glyphs per font, meeting all typographic demands.

The Design

Vertical terminals, circular shapes and angular apexes – Novera truely breathes geometry! But the concept goes beyond the application of rational geometry. The intension was to create a highly legible family suitable for every day usage inspired by the work of Paul Renner, Eric Gill or Jakob Erbar, combining the geometric with the human and the functional with the unconventional. Although Novera is inspired by the past, its appearance is unmistakingly modern.

Modern vs Classic

Novera is available in two versions - Modern and Classic - born from the same source file but with different characters set as default. This creates subtle but effective distinctions such as the double-storey a (Novera Modern) which is optimized for legibility in longer text paragraphs, as opposed to the single-storey a (Novera Classic) which allows a purely geometric appearance.

Another distinguishing feature are the ascenders on Novera Mondern, which extend above the cap height for an elegant presence, compared to the ascenders on Novera Classic, ending at the cap height, for a compact and helvetica-flavored look.

Novera Modern was intended for usage in body copy, whereas Novera Classic was planned for headlines, short paragraphs or logos, but both versions can be used vice versa too, of course.

Alternate Characters

To maintain neutrality and a modern appearance, the standard character set largely dispenses with idiosyncratic forms. This is in contrast to the alternative forms with the gill-like lowercase letters g and t as well as a traditional shape of S and the German ligature t/z, which traces back to old German spellings. Also inspired by German poster designs from the early 20th century are the elongated i-dots and dieresis-dots that can create eye-catchers in headlines or logos. By the way, both versions, Novera Modern and Classic, can be created via stylistic set 1, 17 and 18.

Opentype Features and Symbols

The family comes with many opentype features to support modern typesetting. This includes ligatures, different number sets or alternative shapes for texts set in all caps.

If you like arrows and other shapes, you will love Novera! The family has a built-in extensive symbols-set including 48 different arrows and various geometric shapes or icons.

Weights

With its 40 styles and 1000+ glyphs per font, the Novera family covers all thinkable design scenarios from branding to web, app or editorial usage. It blends in perfectly in text heavy paragraphs with its mid-weights like Light, Regular, Medium or Bold or stands out like a monument in headlines and posters with its extreme weights like Thin, ExtraLight, Black or Ultra.

Useful links: TT Runs PDF Type Specimen TT Runs graphic presentation at Behance Looking for a custom version of TT Runs? The TT Runs project started with a fairly simple idea—to create a wide modern sans-serif, which will reflect the sporty style and look good on sportswear. Before proceeding to sketching, we examined the theme of Olympic venues and their identities, and also traced the evolution of “sports” typefaces through different eras and continents. In the end, we came up with the idea of making a typeface that is targeted for application to elastic sports outfits or casual sportswear. This decision has greatly influenced the appearance of the wide and slightly stretched proportions in our typeface, the appearance of the reversed contrast of the shape of some characters relative to the vertical line and their deformation, and the overall plasticity of the letters. TT Runs is very versatile: on the one hand, it is a regular sans-serif that can be used even in a large text array, and on the other hand, it is a bright display typeface with irregular proportions of characters that looks great even in large headings. A striking feature of the typeface is the difference between the top and bottom, the so-called inverse contrast of the shape relative to the vertical line, which is especially noticeable in uppercase characters (for example, in the letters K, C, S, R). In lowercase characters, everything is calmer and more traditional, the reverse contrast of the forms relative to the vertical line is greatly softened and almost invisible. The main visual features of the typeface also include a large vertical height of lowercase characters. Moreover, the bolder the weight of the style, the taller the height of the lowercase character becomes. In addition, when the DemiBold weight is reached, the design of some characters changes, for example, a vertical stroke in bold for characters with a dot at the top bends into an arc. TT Runs consist of 20 styles: 9 upright & 9 obliques, plus 2 variable fonts, each of which includes 739 glyphs. In addition to the broad language coverage in the typeface, you can find a bunch of useful OpenType features. Stylistic alternates, standard and discretionary ligatures, old-style figures, numbers in circles, arrows and much more. Full OpenType list of features: ordn, case, frac, sinf, sups, numr, dnom, onum, tnum, pnum, lnum, dlig, liga, calt, locl, salt, ss01, ss02, ss03, ss04, ss05, ss06, ss07, ss08, ss09, ss10, ccmp, subs.

Download TT Alientz Font Family From TypeTrends

TT Alientz is a variable* typeface that allows the user to make a visual journey from a laconic extraterrestrial grotesque to a very prickly display serif. As part of this project, we decided to investigate the influence of a foreign substance and the consequent transformation of the original forms, which ultimately leads to extreme visual changes. The TT Alientz family consists of 3 fonts: grotesque, serif and variable* font. Each font contains more than 470 glyphs. In addition to broad language support (including Cyrillic), the typeface has stylish ligatures, contextual alternates, and old-style figures. Variability in the typeface affects the changes in the overall style of the font—moving the slider to adjust the variable axis, you can go from a laconic grotesque to an extreme serif. TT Alientz Grotesque is a fairly neat hipster grotesque, but with its own small features. In the design of some letters of the grotesque you can find small sharp elements that add uniqueness and character to the font when used in large inscriptions and headings. At the same time, when you use the font in a small size of the size and in text blocks, sharp elements do not greatly affect its readability. The design of some letters of the grotesque is quite peculiar and is intended to emphasize the initial concept of slight 'alienness'. TT Alientz Serif is an 'infected' TT Alientz Grotesque and the result of changes to it. Unlike the grotesque, the serif is dynamic, viscous, ductile and very prickly. Serif has a lot of smooth lines and not quite standard strokes contrast. It can be noted that most serifs in the antiqua are pointed inward, not outward. Despite its extremeness, the serif will look good both in large and in small body sizes. *An important clarification regarding variable fonts. Download TT Interfaces Font Family From TypeType

Based on the positive experience in creating typefaces such as TT Norms Pro and TT Commons, we once came up with the ambitious idea of trying to create the perfect typeface to work in modern interfaces on most known mobile and web platforms. We took this project very seriously and, before proceeding with the design itself, we carried out rather extensive research work. You can learn the detailed history of the typeface creation in the article by the link, and here we will tell you what we got in the end. TT Interfaces consists of 22 styles: 18 styles in the basic family, and 4 monospaced fonts. The main visual features of TT Interfaces include the open aperture of the characters, the uniform distribution of white and black, as well as excellent readability. The general neutrality of the font pattern is not without elegance, and all the details of the typeface are made with mathematical precision and love. In addition, TT Interfaces has the most advanced manual TrueType hinting. The basic TT Interfaces family consists of 18 styles (9 weights and 9 obliques), in each of which there are more than 930+ glyphs. In the typeface, you can find old-style figures, stylistic alternates, mathematical signs, as well as 100 universal icons divided into five thematic groups: basic actions, states, sections of the site, documents and folders, mobile interface. TT Interfaces supports more than 180 languages based on extended Latin and Cyrillic, including Bulgarian localization. TT Interfaces Mono is a complementary family of 4 styles (2 upright and 2 obliques), each of which consists of 740+ glyphs. We intentionally changed the sign composition of the Mono subfamily—we added special characters to the encoding and removed everything that was not needed (for example, ligatures). Although Mono borrowed the basic style-forming aspects of the main family, for example, the openness of the aperture or the degree of rounding of the circles, but due to the monospace, it adds some of his own character. First of all, this difference can be found in the changed design of signs, in noticeable visual compensators, as well as in italics, whose design is made in a more humanist way.

Magdelin is a minimal yet warm gothic sans serif typeface consisting of 40 fonts with normal and alternate families. At its core, the design is a gothic sans having simple forms and low contrast, yet it takes some qualities from the humanist class with its calligraphy or cursive-inspired details found in the italics and the bowl shapes of characters like b and d. The weights range from thin to black. The small x-height, longer ascenders and descenders, and semi-condensed proportions give it a bit of a vintage or classic feel while still appearing contemporary and modern in current typographic landscapes. The clean design allows it to be a useful and versatile workhorse family great for branding, packaging, editorial, books, websites, digital, and more. With the alternate family (Magdelin Alt) comes even more calligraphic details by having certain strokes terminate with an angle so it reflects a broad-nib pen drawn at an angle. This increases the overall warmth in appearance. Magdelin has many OpenType features: • Stylistic alternates • Discretionary ligatures • Case-sensitive punctuation for All Caps • Tabular figures • Fractions, numerators, denominators • Superscript, subscript • Slashed zero With over 600 glyphs, this font has extensive Latin language support (100+ Latin languages) for Western, Central, and South Eastern European.
